What we learned, Sunday December 19th

*SPECIAL MESSAGE*
Sunday December 26 will be one family service at 10:00 am, but there will be childcare for Animal Jam children. Hope you all have a very wonderful Christmas, God bless!

This week in Animal J.a.m. our 2 year olds learned that the wise men worshiped Jesus. Our 3 & 4 year olds learned that the wise men worshiped a special baby. Please look at your take home sheets for more information
Today in Jammers we continued to learn more about Jesus. We can and should tell others about Jesus. Please look in your child's bag for more information.

This week in 123 Go we continued our Christmas lesson and we talked about how Christmas is a time to love as Jesus loves. Jesus gave so much to others, but he didn't give money or presents, he gave his time, talents, prayers, but most of all, his love. We can all learn a lesson from Jesus this Christmas by giving more from our hearts and not just our wallets.

Memory Verse (worth 5 Action Bucks):
"None of you should look out just for your own good. You should also look out for the good of others. You should think in the same way Christ Jesus does."
Philippians 2:4-5 (NIrV)

*If your child has already memorized this verse in another version, I will accept that as well.

Secret word this week is: (NO SECRET WORD)

This week in Highway 45 we acted out a little skit that told a story about the 3 wise men and how they decided on what gifts to bring the baby Jesus. They all had such a great time dressing up and really getting into their characters, and I had a blast watching them. We were all laughing, enjoying each other's company, smiling from ear to ear, and learning about Jesus...and isn't that what Christmas is all about?

Secret word this week is: CELEBRATION

This week in Highway 45 we continued with our Advent Conspiracy lesson, and our main focus this week was sacrifice. The kids were split up into teams and had to work together learning along the way that they wont always be able to get what they want, and that sometimes they need to sacrifice things to better themselves and others. This week's memory verse is crucial and I want all the kids to have it memorized by next week. "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Hebrews 13:15-16 (NIV)

Secret word this week is: GIFT

This week in Highway 45 we started our Advent Conspiracy lesson. This week we discussed worship and how important it is not just around Christmas time, but throughout the year. Every where we turn Christmas music is playing on the radio, at the mall, in elevators; and we tend to tune it all out and ignore what the songs are really about. We should all stop and take the time to listen to songs like "What Child is This?" and "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing". Even if we think we have heard them a hundred times, it may take that hundred and one time to actually discover what these songs actually mean and what they should mean to us as believers in Christ.
