What we learned August 8th

This week in Animal J.a.m. we are learning more about God. In our two year old classroom we learned how God is strong. God helps His people today, just like He helped Moses and the Israelites. In our 3 and 4 year old classroom we about Jonah, the story can be found in Jonah 1:1-3 and on your take home page.
Today in Jammers we learned about loving God and Others from Mark 12:28-35. For activities and more information about the story, please refer to your take home page in your child's bag.

This week in 123 Go, we learned to always give credit to God! We learned about Paul and Barnabas when they healed a crippled man many people thought he was a god. They told them that it is only because God had given them the power that they were able to heal the crippled man. You can read more about this story in Acts 14:8-18. We also talked about how we can do nothing with out God, and how we need to remember to give Him the credit for the things we do.

Memory Verse (worth 5 Action Bucks):

"What do you have that God hasn't given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?" 1 Corinthians 4:7b (NLT)

*If your child has already memorized this verse in another version, I will accept that as well.

Special Assignment (worth 10 Action Bucks):
This week: Make a list of 10 things that God has given to you that you can give Him credit for. Bring that list next Sunday!

Secret word this week is: FRIENDS

This week in Highway 45 we discussed the importance of sharing about God and that he is our friend. I want the kids to tell their friends about their friendship with God and just how great it is! If they aren't sure how to start, have them revert back to their SHARE story we did in class. The SHARE story will help them better explain how God has changed their life forever!

This week's memory verse is "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" 1 Peter 3:15
